Hospital-Grade Sheet Vinyl, Installed Right

Heat Welded Vinyl — Healthcare & Medical Facilities

The floor your facility actually needs.

Very few flooring companies in Nebraska specialize in heat welded vinyl for healthcare. Fewer still understand the product science behind it. We do — and we source and install the leading healthcare-grade flooring brands, engineered specifically for the infection control and durability standards hospitals and clinics can’t compromise on.

This page goes deeper than our general heat welded vinyl overview — it’s a resource on the product technology, certifications, and vendor options available for hospitals, clinics, surgical centers, and medical office buildings across Nebraska. If you’re specifying flooring for a healthcare project, this is the detail you need.

What makes this floor different.

Most sheet vinyl is built as a single formulation and hopes for the best. The leading healthcare flooring manufacturers engineer their products differently — and the difference is the reason a properly specified floor holds up in a hospital corridor for decades instead of years.

Mohawk Group — M-Force™ Technology

M-Force is a combination of the finish layer, wear layer, and design layer — three components Mohawk develops individually, each engineered for optimal performance on its own. Then those layers are built together in a proprietary process that makes their combined performance exponentially greater than any single layer alone. It’s the reason this floor resists scuffing, staining, and wear in ways a standard single-layer sheet vinyl simply can’t.

Mohawk Group — M-Force™ Xtreme

For the homogeneous Medella collections, Mohawk takes M-Force further with M-Force Xtreme — the technology behind the certifications that matter most in a clinical setting: R10 slip resistance, NFSI High Traction certification, and ISO Cleanroom Class 3 certification. This is the level of performance a surgical corridor or sterile processing area actually requires.

Leading vendors we can source and install.

We're not tied to a single manufacturer. Depending on your facility's spec, budget, and certification requirements, we can source and install flooring from any of these established healthcare flooring brands.

Mohawk Group

Healthy Environments collection — heterogeneous and homogeneous sheet vinyl built with M-Force technology, covered in detail on this page.

Mannington

One of the most established names in American resilient flooring, with sheet vinyl built for the demands of healthcare, education, and commercial environments.

Tarkett

A global leader in resilient flooring, with heterogeneous and homogeneous sheet vinyl specified in hospitals and healthcare facilities worldwide.

nora

A rubber flooring specialist rather than vinyl — a PVC-free alternative valued in healthcare for its durability, acoustics, and chemical resistance.

Not sure which vendor fits your project? That’s exactly what the spec conversation is for — call us and we’ll help you figure it out.

Two constructions. One standard of performance.

Across every vendor we work with, we spec the right construction for your application — heterogeneous for standard installs, homogeneous where certifications and cleanroom performance are non-negotiable.

Healthy Environments heterogeneous sheet vinyl in a hospital lab corridor

Heterogeneous Resilient Sheet

The Workhorse Construction

Built in distinct layers — a design layer, wear layer, and backing — heterogeneous sheet delivers exceptional cleanability and durability for healthcare corridors, patient rooms, waiting areas, and other high-traffic clinical spaces. This is the workhorse construction for the majority of a healthcare facility’s square footage, available from Mohawk, Mannington, and Tarkett.

Homogeneous sheet vinyl in a hospital imaging room

Homogeneous Resilient Sheet

Where Certifications Matter Most

Homogeneous sheet has the same composition all the way through, which is why it can carry the R10 slip resistance, NFSI High Traction, and ISO Cleanroom Class 3 certifications clinical spaces require. This is the construction for sterile processing, surgical support areas, labs, and anywhere cleanroom-level performance is specified — Mohawk’s Medella line is one option among several we can source.

A closer look at one homogeneous option we can source — three variations within Mohawk's Medella family, all backed by the same certifications and 20-year warranty.

Medella Fleck flooring pattern

Medella Fleck

A flecked aggregate look built on the same M-Force Xtreme construction — cleanroom-certified performance with a texture that hides scuffing and wear in high-traffic clinical corridors.

Medella Hues Therapeutic Calmness flooring pattern

Medella Hues

A softer, tonal colorway option within the same certified construction — suited to patient-facing spaces where a calmer palette matters alongside the performance specs. Shown here in Therapeutic Calmness.

Medella Well PVC-free flooring in a commercial boardroom

Medella Well PVC-Free

The PVC-free option within the Medella line — same M-Force Xtreme certifications and performance, built for facilities prioritizing material transparency and sustainability goals alongside clinical performance.

What the certifications actually mean.

These aren't unique to one manufacturer — they're industry-recognized standards that any homogeneous sheet product should be measured against, whichever vendor you choose.

R10 Slip Resistance

A recognized slip-resistance rating that measures how a floor performs under ramp-test conditions. R10 is a mid-to-high resistance rating appropriate for areas with routine cleaning, spills, and foot traffic — exactly the conditions in a hospital corridor.

NFSI High Traction

Certification from the National Floor Safety Institute confirming the floor meets a high-traction standard for slip resistance — independent, third-party verification rather than a manufacturer’s own claim.

ISO Cleanroom Class 3

An ISO classification for cleanroom environments based on allowable particle counts. Class 3 is a stringent standard — relevant for sterile processing, surgical support, and lab spaces where airborne and surface particulate control matters.

Ask about warranty terms — they vary by vendor and product line, and we’ll walk you through what each manufacturer backs their product with.

Why heat welding matters here.

Product technology only gets you halfway. Every seam in a healthcare installation has to be heat welded — fused with a heat gun and color-matched welding rod into a single continuous, watertight surface. A beautifully engineered sheet with a poorly welded seam still gives bacteria and moisture somewhere to go. Our installation crews are trained specifically in heat welding technique for healthcare environments, regardless of which manufacturer’s product is going down — the seam work matters just as much as the product spec.

Where each construction belongs.

Heterogeneous sheet — best for:

  • Patient rooms and hallways
  • Waiting rooms and reception areas
  • Administrative and office space
  • General clinical corridors

Homogeneous sheet — best for:

  • Sterile processing departments
  • Surgical support and prep areas
  • Laboratories and cleanrooms
  • Anywhere R10/NFSI/ISO Class 3 is specified

The same certified constructions, built for education and workplace settings too

While this page is focused on healthcare, these same vendors and constructions are engineered for any high-traffic setting where cleanability and durability matter — schools, workplaces, and institutional facilities included. If your project falls outside healthcare but shares those demands, we can spec the right product line for it.

Product questions, answered.

Do you only install Mohawk products?

No. We can source and install healthcare-grade flooring from Mohawk, Mannington, Tarkett, and nora, depending on what your facility's spec calls for and what fits your budget. We'll help you compare options rather than pushing a single manufacturer.

What's the difference between heterogeneous and homogeneous sheet vinyl?

Heterogeneous sheet vinyl is built in distinct layers — a design layer, wear layer, and backing. Homogeneous sheet vinyl has the same composition all the way through the thickness of the material, which is why it can be certified to the cleanroom and traction standards clinical spaces require. Heterogeneous is the right call for general clinical space; homogeneous is what you specify where those certifications are required.

What does ISO Cleanroom Class 3 certification mean for our facility?

It means a homogeneous sheet product meets a stringent ISO classification for allowable particle counts — relevant if you're flooring a sterile processing department, surgical support area, or lab where particulate control is part of your compliance requirements. Talk to us about your specific application and we'll confirm which vendor's certified product is the right spec for the space.

Is rubber flooring (like nora) a good alternative to sheet vinyl?

It can be. Rubber flooring like nora's is PVC-free, highly durable, and offers strong acoustic and chemical resistance properties — some facilities specify it over vinyl for exactly those reasons. It's a different material with different tradeoffs, and we can talk through whether it fits your project better than sheet vinyl.

What is PVC-Free Medella Well, and why would we choose it?

Medella Well delivers the same M-Force Xtreme construction and certifications as the rest of Mohawk's Medella line, without PVC in the formulation. Facilities choose it when material transparency or sustainability goals are part of their procurement standards, without giving up any of the clinical performance specs.

Do you install this yourselves, or subcontract it out?

We install it ourselves, with crews trained specifically in heat welding technique for healthcare environments. The product certifications only matter if the installation — especially the seam welding — is done right. That's the part we take just as seriously as the product spec, regardless of which manufacturer's material we're working with.
